Civil Process
General duties of the Harney County Civil Deputy:
Process civil and legal court papers to be served by a Sheriff’s Deputy on persons throughout the County. Maintain records and assist with various office duties in the Civil Division. Process legal papers such as summons, small claims, garnishments, restraining orders and subpoenas for service. Process writs of execution, attachment of property and other court orders to be served and enforced by a Sheriff’s Deputy. Maintain records and, when required, prepare reports necessary for official investigation, crime prevention, prosecution and office procedure. Process telephone calls from the public in regard to Civil duties. Perform research from files and records. Prepare a variety of documents as needed. Process and assist the public with attaining a Concealed Handgun License (CHL). Assist public as appropriate. Follow all safety rules and procedures established for work areas. Comply with all relevant County policies and procedures.
