Long-Term Recovery Group

Long Term Recovery Group Letter

As we continue navigating the aftermath of the recent flooding in Harney County, we are shifting from immediate response efforts to the vital work of long-term recovery.

A Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) has been formed—a collaborative effort made up of representatives from local non-profits, faith-based groups, community members and local officials, all working together to address disaster-related unmet needs.

The Harney Hub is leading this effort and will be handling Long Term Recovery Donations.

How to Donate:

  • Online: You can contribute via PayPal on their website at harneyhub.org. Simply look for the yellow “Donate” button near the middle of the page.

Livestock loss reporting:

Livestock owners who have experienced losses —  including hay — can contact Harney County FSA at 541-573-6446 ext. 2.

Lions Club Parr Lumber grants (NO LONGER AVAILABLE): This grant helped 68 homes.

The Lions Club has secured a grant to support residents affected by flooding and has partnered with Parr Lumber to provide essential materials. Eligible households can receive up to $350 toward purchases at Parr, including drywall, paint, flooring, insulation, and more. You will need to provide your home address and homeowner’s name. CLEANUP/DISPOSAL RESOURCES:

Free cleanup supplies:

  • Free boots, gloves, Clorox wipes and garbage bags are available from the Harney County Health Department (420 N Fairview Ave, Burns; 541-573-2271). Call for delivery or pick up at the Harney County Health Department.
  • Additional supplies are available at Red Cross Supply Center and Washington Park, Triangle Park.
  • Emergency Cleanup Supplies (courtesy DES) available until April 26, 2025 at::
    320 Snow Mountain Pine Lane, Hines, OR 97738
    Hours: 9AM -4PM daily
  • Lime: A large order of several tons of lime is being coordinated — more information to come.

Harney County is offering a 6-month fee waiver for county permits. To secure a fee waiver, visit 111 W. Washington St. in Burns or call 541-573-8195.
