Landfills

County Landfills

Harney County has 5 landfills,  in the various areas of the County.  These sites provide a valuable service to the citizens of Harney County  in having a sanitary location for the removal of waste.

Landfills:

• Diamond
• Drewsey
• Fields
• Frenchglen
• Riley

The following materials will not be accepted at the landfills:

• tires, batteries, oil products, appliances, car bodies, dead animals, hazardous waste, medical waste, antifreeze, explosives and hot or burning materials, and electronic waste (televisions, computer monitors, desk top computers or portable computers).

The electronic waste can be recycled at Rimrock Recycling or the Burns-Hines Landfill.

The gates will be locked at each of the locations during non-business hours.
